Epidurals at Public Hospital?

Hello,

Wondering if anyone has been able to receive epidurals for natural delivery at public hospitals? And specifically at United Christian Hospital?

I've heard from others that it's very rare to be able to receive one, but am hoping to hear of others' experiences. I had an epidural for my first delivery not in Hong Kong, and can't imagine doing without it for my second here. Wondering if I need to go the private route to ensure I get one, but the price difference being so hefty (no insurance) is making me think whether I could survive without it. :(

Appreciate any thoughts/comments!

It's not rare. Many women do get their epidural. It's just that it may take a bit longer if the anesthesiologist is busy with surgery patients. You will need to ask for it as early and as often as possible. Tell them your pain threshold is very low.

Best of luck!
