Epidural limits and public hospitals?

I've hear rumors about getting an epidural at public hospitals. A friend of mine says the public hospital she is giving birth at (sorry not sure which one) has a limit of 3 epidurals they can give each day. Can it be that if you are the 4th in line that you have to just deal with the pain?? Anybody else heard this? Thanks

I don't think there is a limit to the number that they do, but bear in mind that there may only be one anethitist on duty in the maternity ward.
That means if he/she is in surgery or attending to someone else you will have to wait.

There's no limit as far as numbrs go - but there limits in terms of how many people a day they can service. Often the maternity wards are very busy, and as labour cannot be planned, it just depenbds where you are in the queue vs where you are in your labour!
