Emu oil for Eczema?

My DD's eczema has gotten worse this winter - looks almost like red/purple bruise patches that are very itchy - she even has red spots on her face. :(

Has anyone ever tried Emu oil for their baby's eczema?

Does anyone know where I can buy high quality Emu oil in HK?

DD has sensitive skin (to the point where her whole body broke out in eczema and she had a fever for three days after her four year old immunisations because her body reacted so strongly to the immunisations) we have tried a lot of stuff and in the end settled on sorbalene (a non-perfumed moisturiser) for washing with and then steroid cream (.05 or.1%) when it gets really bad followed by an antihistamine for the scratching. I also have Elidel for her face which is specially designed for face eczema. Nothing else has worked and Playing with all the different potions was beginning to wear at me!
 
my son also has this problem. it was quite bad when he was like 2,3 months old. i used "trixera" cream from the brand Avene on him as body moisturiser, "Cetaphil" cream on his face everyday. make sure his skin is not dry. then his skin got better since then. these are recommendated by skin doctor and works very well. the skin doc also told me tried to avoid to use steroid cream, especially on the face as the side bad effect on the skin is life time. i highly recommend the Trixera from Avene. go check out their website for their details. hope these can help your babies.
 
Hi there, my baby also has bad eczema at the moment. I'm not sure what Emu oil is, but here's what my paediatrician recommended:

* when bathing baby, do not use soap as it will dry out the skin even more
* straight after bath, use a moisturising cream like Cetaphil or Physiogel

He has also prescribed hydrocortisal (1%) to use for 1 week to get the eczema under control. Apparently 1% is very weak and does not have adverse effects on babies. My dad is a dermatologist and agrees with this.

I have been following this advice for the past 3 days and have seen a huge improvement in baby's skin.
 
My hubby used to use it for his eczema. It was quite good.
Never seen it in HK though, used to bring it in from Oz.
Sorry not much help.
 
I havent found Emu oil, so am using a bit of Camellia oil instead. Also have started adding Flax oil to her diet.
