Employment Contract Processing Time

Can anyone tell me how long do I need to wait if I hire a local domestic helper (Philippino) in Hong Kong? I assume after signing the contract / pass it to Immigration for process & issuing the working visa, does it need to take one month time? Thanks for your inputs!

We hired our helper as her previous employer (a friend of us) was leaving to another country, so she didn't need to go back to the Philippines. It took us 7 weeks for the whole process.
