Can I have elective C-section at Queen Elizabeth Hospital? Or is it only at OB's discretion?

If I wish to give birth at public hospital such as QEH but wants to see private OBs for prenatal checkups, when should I register at QEH or TranYuk?

Appreciate your info.

i think that you mean Queen MARY Hospital, not Queen Elizabeth Hospital...

if you want to deliver at QMH you MUST register at Tsan Yuk... you may still see a private OBGYN....

Hello,

Not sure if ud had a C before or this is your first baby...

I've had a C before & all thru my check ups they kept telling me that they will let me try a VBAC..untill my 36 week check up...where the doctors told me it was upto me to choose a VBAC or an elective c- section.

Hope this helps....

Another friend also had an elective C at QMH as her baby was breech & she had no complains....

Wonder if there are any other mom's our there who have had elective C's at QMH & what were their expriences??????

I had a private OBGYN and didn't bother registering at Tsan Yuk until about 35 weeks.

As far as I know they will not do an elective c-section unless there is a sound medical reason for it. I had a friend who had delivered her first 2 babies by c-section in Australia and her 3rd had to be the same (for medical reasons) but it still took her ages to convince them to do it!
