I am just like you ladies, I only came back to HK in August 08 alone while my hubby still stays in canada to work.

I was as lost as you ladies but managed to get everything sorted out and delivered my boy on 7 Nov 08.

The private OB I was visiting was Dr Edmund Hon, he charges 700 for consultation and 600 for ultra sound.

He is located in central in Queens Road Central

So my scan went well today :) And you're right, all I can see was a little black dot as well. I'm due for another scan in 2 weeks which will be my 8th week. The heartbeat should be very clear by then. The doctor pointed it out to me today but we can barely see it. It's so tiny!

Robbie, I'm not with Dr. Doo yet so you tell me how it goes. :)As of now, I still go to HK Sanatorium for my initial scans because I conceived via IVF. Once I finish my 8-week scan and everything is ok and fetal heartbeat is clear, then I can "transfer" to an ob gyn. I'm inclined to go with Dr. Doo because he did the implantation procedure and I've seen him couple of times during my IVF procedure. He's really nice and friendly..makes you feel comfortable right away.

Hi everyone, I've just learned I'm pg too. I'm probably going to go to the same doctor I used earlier this year when I was pg for 9.5 weeks - Dr. Mike Rogers was very caring and helped me get through the D&C with professionalism and expertise. I feel lucky to conceive again rather quickly.

What's new everyone ? Is everything ok ?

On my side, everything is fine, still very very tired, I slept all week end and I'm dreaming about going back to bed !

I have a cold (we are fighting with the air cond all day with my colleagues, they won !), and it's really ennoying cause I can't brief properly during the night so I can't sleep ! I really look like a zombie since a few days !

Everything alright for me apart from the never stoping sickness;-( OB appointment went well but unfortunately Dr. Doo is most probably not in Hong Kong for my due date, so not sure if I still stick to him and take his cover for the big day or if I change doctor again or go public all the way. Just to sick to make a decision right now but guess I have to figure something out soon.

robbieudo, good luck for the sickness, I believe its not funny ! Did your doc gave you something or some tips to try to minimize the sickness ?

I'm at home today, I am too sick to go to work, my cold is getting worst ! Planning of the day : take a nap, drink some hot water with lemon and honey !
 
Hi all, great to meet so many expecting mothers. I am due in early June and in my 13th week of pregnancy.

Like some of you, during the first three months, I was not sick a lot but felt really tired. I usually vomited in the late afternoon after getting from a nap. And I became sensitive to smells. I also felt gas up / and belched a lot.

I am now feel more energetic since I am into the 13th week. But still have the feeling to throw up sometimes.

I was told by my family and friends that it's really important to look after your health during the first three months coz you are more vulnerable to cold and aliments. So, I make sure I wear enough or try to stay out of aircon rooms. I lived in the Mainland and go to Hong Kong for check ups. I found that Malls, offices and Hospitals are really cold for me there. So I always bring an extra jacket.

So zany500, take good care of yourself and get plenty of rest and hope you recover soon.

I am going to Union hospital in Shatin and Dr Connie Yuen is my OB. She is very good.

Hi All,
I am also into my 5th week pregnant. This will be my second (my little princess is 10 months old) but my first in HK. I was wondering if anyone is interested in meeting up. Would be great to share Obst, hospital & general pregnancy stories. If anyone is interested, was wondering about maybe around Tuesday lunchtime next week? I have my first obst. appointment this Friday with Dr Lucy Lord, and hope to deliver at Matilda so am looking forward to it.

Thank you Carey for your support ! I'm doing my best to try to get ride of this bad cold ! Unfortunately I can't avoid my office and my colleagues who make fun of me when they see me with 2 jakets and a big scarf !!!! grrrr
The air cond is really becoming a big problem and turns to a fight everyday !!!!
I didn't told them I was pregnant yet, I'll tell everybody at the office after my next scan, mid december.

AussieMum, good idea, I would be happy to meet up !

I'm working on Des Voeux road, between IFC and Three sixty, I'm available anytime for a lunch in Central. Next tuesday is ok for me.

Maybe we should reconsider next Thursday or Friday for a lunch so that ladyj can also join (and give any others an opportunity if they wish to come too). If this suits let me know, and zany500 you may be able to suggest somewhere to meet. It would be great to be able to share stories. Let me know what best suits you guys!
 
Thursday or Friday is fine with me, no problem.

I am quite new to HK, so I do not know a lot of places...maybe Lan Kwai Fong, anybody know a nice place to have a "quick" lunch ? or a mix (I know there is one on hollywood rd or in IFC) ?

I'm open to any ideas :-)
