Hello all yummy mummys to be,

How exciting to be the first to post for the due in December 2009 Christmas babies! I recently found out that I'm pregnant, so am approximately 4-5 weeks, putting me due in mid-December. This is my second pregancy, after a miscarriage a few months ago, so am both excited but cautious at the same time and just taking each day as it comes.

What else to say? I'm originally from Australia and this will be my first baby. Our little Aussie will also be the first grandchild and first great grandchild of the family. We've been in Hong Kong for a year now and love living here, and look forward to the challenge and excitement of living in HK with a baby.

Looking forward to hearing from all those other mums-to-be out there!

I'm due on Dec 23(ish) with my second baby. This will be my fifth pregnancy though, so I totally understand your cautious excitement. We're from Canada and moved here about 7 months ago. My daughter is 9 months old now, which is a nice age difference I think.

Congratulations Natalie's Mom! That's wonderful news. Your approx due date is so close to Christmas! I haven't had my due date confirmed yet but am estimating it will be around 11-15 December or so. First doctor's appointment is next week so will get his EDD then. Your little ones will be lovely and close in age.

Yes very cautious at the moment still. Just taking each day as it comes, although the morning sickness and exhaustion is my daily reminder of being pregnant!

Hi ladies! I'm also expecting a baby in December! I went to see Dr Lucy Lord this week, and she estimated my due date would be around December 10th. My husband and I are still in the process of moving from London to HK (I'm originally from Japan though), but this pregnancy will add more excitement (and more headache!) to our move to HK. I have been trying to conceive for over 2 years, so it was kind of funny to get pregnant as soon as we arrived in HK!

I'm also struggling with constant nausea and tiredness, but my husband has been really helpful and sympathetic (so far). He even bought a pregnancy guidebook for men!

I'm also very cautious at the moment because it took us so long to get to this stage, but at the same time, I like to enjoy this moment as much as I can.

A warm congratulations to you Tomogotchi - that is wonderful news! You are spot on with wanting to be excited but also cautious at the same time. We are still taking each day as it comes and go back to see the doctor next week. He is being really cautious and has me resting and taking medication to prevent another miscarriage. Don't forget to rest up either and let your husband take care of the move!

Hope that all continues to go well for you! :flower:

Hi Monty and Natalie's Mom, how are you two doing? I'm still struggling with nausea and headache, which are sadly getting worse! Last week we went back to London to pack things up, so I was so tired from organizing the move, tidying up the flat and saying farewell to friends and families while battling with morning sickness...

Anyway, I'm just wondering if you want to meet up for chat some day, even though it's still just three of us in this Due December club... Let me know.

Hi everyone, I'm also due in December. Our EDD is Dec 24/25 so it will be a nice Christmas present! I've been getting lots of nausea and haven't felt a lot of energy. I'm hoping that that will go away soon as we're nearing the end of the first trimester! Congrats to all the Dec. moms!

Hi there, I am also due in mid-December. Congrats to all dec mom-to-be! This is my first pregnancy and I am so new to this. This is an unplanned pregnancy and I was engaged to be married in July when I found out i was pregnant. It is not the best timing but I am still very excited. Altho nausea hits me day and nite and it doesn't go away even i am in my 13th week. Btw I have found out that i am having a girl yesterday!

hey mcblowfish! my first pregnancy also and i'm also getting married in july! pregnancy was a happy surprise. ditto on the nausea...hopefully it will be less and less. my 13th week is next week...we have a scan so maybe we can find out the sex by then!

Oh wow! Glad to know someone who's in the same situation. Do you have to get your wedding gown altered? I am really stressed out because of all the plan changes (ie honeymoon). Good luck in finding out the gender of the baby!

hey! well, lucky i don't have a dress yet. i went to shenzhen with my mom who has a tailor she trusts so crossing my fingers it will turn out ok. maybe your travel agent can enquire about making changes due to your situation? thanks! our appt is on friday.

Hi girls,

Congratualations on your pregnancies and your weddings! How uncanny, I am also having my wedding in August and am having the same dress dillema! The dillema being I don't have a dress to wear and only two months to get one organised. Help - any suggestions?

Apologies for not posting on the December forum for so long. I am due on December 10 and did start this forum back in April. However I didn't get any responses for so long that I jumped into the November forum.

I am nearly 15 weeks along and glad the the nausea is finally subsiding. As long as I eat every couple of hours I am fine. A big improvement from before when I could not stomach anything for hours on end.

If you ever feel like meeting up and talking weddings and babies let me know!

:)

hey monty, it would be nice to meet some other december moms. i've looked up some maternity wedding dress sites, but because mine is coming up in less than 6 weeks now, i don't have time to order a dress...i just went up to shenzhen yesterday to get one made and hopefully an empire waist style will be able to grow with me :) i'm just starting my 13th week and i'm hoping my nausea is subsiding too....it was a pretty rough first trimester. congrats too!

Hi girls, in a way it's good that you don't have a dress yet. The other day when i found out that i couldn't zip my gown up, i cried for 10 minutes. I guess it was (the hormone, and) because I have planned my wedding for a year and the dress took 6 months to order and suddenly this pregnancy happens and it is so unexpected. But of cos, nothing really matters as long as the baby is healthy. it's just that it's my first pregnancy and I am kinda freaked out.

My nausea is NOT going away (damn it!) and I am 14th week already. Every morning i feel like i am hungover and i wasn't even drinking!

For Monty, I don't think there's enuf time to order a dress. I would suggest that you rent a gown with an empire waist that you can adjust. There are lotsa shops in hk that offers rental service. The other option is vintage gown. My friend bought her vintage gown online and it only costs a couple of thousands in hong kong dollars and it looked absolutely amazing. The vintage gowns usually are not tight-fitted and have layers of lace that can cover up the bump. There's also a shop in Causeway Bay that sells vintage gown. They are around a couple of thousands and they looked quite loose to me. (last time i checked was 9 months ago tho).

Good luck to all december moms and bride-to-be! btw which hospital are you guys booked? May be we'll bump into each other in the delivery room too!

Hi Banane and McBlowfish,

Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking of going up to Shenzen and ordering a gown to be made. The lack of time has me worried however! McBlowfish - sorry to hear about your gown not fitting. I can understand why you were crying! I would be too! Can I ask the website that your friend ordered her vintage gown from? Unfortunately I am unable to rent anything as we are having our wedding in Australia and not in Hong Kong.

The morning hangover - that is exactly how I described morning sickness to my partner! It is dreadful isn't it? Especially seeing as you don't get the joy of enjoying that glass of wine or two the night before!

Hospital - we are still deciding. It really is a decision between Canossa and Queen Mary.

As for a meet up - I am pretty flexible with times. Just need to set a day/time.

Hate the morning sickness...I thought it was over and I felt sick a few times last week...so far so good this week though...crossing our fingers for all of us! I think we've decided on private doctor, but then going to Queen Mary. Do you both work during the week?

I'm not working at the moment. I am studying a Masters this year and now have a few weeks off between semesters. I'll be finished studying some 3-4 weeks before our baby is due!

Still on the hunt for a wedding gown today...!

hey monty! i'm a massage therapist so my schedules vary day to day. would you like to meet in the am or pm? this week is a bit crazy, but i can meet between 12 and 3 next wed? whereabouts are you? if central is convenient, that would be great!

Welcome banane76 and mcblowfish to December 09 club! And double congratulations to all on pregnancy and getting hitched!! It must be really exciting and also overwhelming at the same time. Take good care of yourselves as you are going through the two life-time events at the same time which are both thrilling and exhausting!

I guess my morning sickness is getting milder, but nausea still comes back in the evening, and brushing teeth before going to bed makes me sick... I'm in week 15, so I'm hoping I can say good bye to it by the end of this week... Fingers crossed.

I'd love to meet up with you girls for chat. I'm not working at the moment, so if you want to meet up, I'm quite flexible in terms of time & place. Any time next Wed in Central works for me.

Hi gals! I am also not working at the moment and central sounds perfect to me. I can't do 12 next weds tho (i am trying my wedding gown on after it's been altered for my growing waist line, finger crossed for me that i can squeeze in it!) but anytime after 1pm is fine for me.

Good luck monty for your gown hunting - my gf got hers on eBay but i am sure there are a lot out there on the internet. Have fun searching!
