Due Date - Jan 2015

Yep but since this is my first time, I'd better to believe it:) and also after all, it's good to have someone professional to cook for you and take care of the new born baby:)

Hi ladies, I am looking for some good books on baby issues like birth, breastfeeding, sleeping, general care... I am sure you also want to know what to expect, especially we are all far from our families and friends and their daily support and advice. So why don't we share our recommendations here? I can start by recommending the one I read so far, a classic many of you will already know, Secrets of the baby whisperer, How to calm, connect and communicate with your baby, by Tracy Hogg. I loved it, and I hope I will be able to put at least something of it into practice with my baby! It's about how to put your baby into a structured routine for both the baby's and family happiness and well-being. A friend of mine also gave me a book she loved and successfully used for her own baby, but I do not remember the exact title as it is still in one of the boxes waiting to be unpacked!! As soon as I get my hands (and reading glasses) on it I will share the info. So, any of you have other recommendations?
Thank you! I hope we can meet again soon.

I know Baby Love and Save Our Sleep are highly recommended. Both books are for AFTER baby arrives. I've bought Baby Love but haven't had time to flip through it yet. Hope this helps x

Hi all - I am wondering whether it s possible to switch to public care at the last minute ? I am in due late jan and my private insurance only starts jan 1 so they will cover the birth and insure child if born after that date.
However if for no reason I give birth before I am not covered. Should that happen can i just show up at QM on the day (local hospital for me)? Especially relevant if I give birth early as they have the best neonatal care (I heard ). Any advice would be much appreciated . Furthermore is it true that if private hospital transfers your baby to QM for extra neo natal care then you are billed as though you were in private care ?
I would have signed up w QM but work full time with one year old in v demanding job v hard for me to take time and wait at tsang yuk for appointments unfortunately .
Many thx in advance for any advice . Think scenario of being four weeks early pretty unlikely but would rather ask !
Happy Friday !

I would definitely register! I doubt they'd refuse you, but there'd be a lot of red tape if you're not in their system.

Hey pooja congrats sounds great... I m gnu to bombay how about u? Where u placed in hongkong? Would be great to get in touch :)

Hey Moms, I am looking for some pregnancy yoga classes in Central. Any recommendations? Anyone would like to come with me?

I'd be keen to try some out. The Iyengar Yoga Centre in Sheung Wan (The Pemberton) has pre-natal yoga re-starting Oct 8th 6pm on Weds.

The Yoga Room (also in Sheung Wan) appears to have a pre-natal class every day of the week (including Sat/Suns) at differing times. I think there are lots of other studios also offering pre-natal but I haven't researched much.
