Due Date in July - September 08

hi,

my due date aug 30. how about u girls?
gone for my first pre natal check up on jan 10. will go for oscar test on feb 16. hope everything is fine.
looking forward to share info and experiences.

I'm due July 18th, had my 12 week scan (late at nearly 14 weeks so mum mum could see as she was visiting from the UK), so amazing.

Finally getting energy back and not feeling sick any more!

i've tried eating green apples, also eating 2 crackers before i get out of bed in the morning helps..
can't drink caffeinated drinks for some time now, till august.
sometimes i do get cramps and discomfort,, how do i know everything is okay?
have u gone for or planning to go for oscar test?

Hi ladies,
I'm due 27th July with my first, after treatment for PCOS. Had a scan yesterday and it was so amazing seeing the perfect little spine and hands and feet!!
I'm starting to get really excited now we're into the second trimester. I was exhausted and nauseous (but not actually sick) in the first trimester, but am feeling better now. I'm getting occasional bad headaches though - anyone else getting that?
What's an oscar test?

oscar test is test for down syndrome. i think they measure fetus neck and take blood test from the mother. i am going for my oscar test in mid of feb. i'll be seeing dr. lam yung hang.

my next prenatal check up is feb 4th.. a bit worried..
doing a lot of things that i should not be doing , like moving back home after renovation, etc..

Oh, I see - I had that a few weeks ago and we got a very low risk result thankfully. Reei, what is it you're worried about? have you had any check ups yet? I think the cramps and discomfort are quite normal as everything is expending to make room for the little one!
As for doing things you're not supposed to...I think everyone does! I'm trying not to eat the things you're not supposed to, but in a moment of weakness ate half a Camembert over Christmas ;-)

i moved in to a newly renovated home and smell some paint? that got me worrying.. :)
thanks UKlady, i feel better after reading your post.. yeah, shouldn't be worrying too much,, i guess the cramps are normal, as long as there is no bleeding..
next check up in early feb.

Cramps are normal! It's just everything stretching and growing in preparation for the baby that's growing and stretching!

I had the OSCAR with my first pregnancy but am not having it this time around. It was very wrong with my first pregnancy, and have us a very high risk of downs syndrome.....needless to say our son was born healthy and well...so am not going through all that stress again.

Will have the fetal abnormality scan at approx 20 wks and that will put my mind at rest.

bekyboo44,

can u pls tell me more about fetal abnormality scan at approx 20 wks ? what is the procedure like?

have u all register at hospital? i am going to QE for the first time this wednesday.. i wonder what to expect..

Am due 9th August with baby no. 2! Also just getting over awful morning sickness which didn't have for first!

registered at QE as well, as i have a long medical history there, no other choices....
How about you all?

Hi all,
We're going to register at Queen Mary but haven't been there yet. I'm having my ante-natal care with the private doctor who I had the treatemnt with just to be on the safe side. I was thinking of doing the ante-natal classes with Annerley - anyone else going to do that?
Hope everyone is well!

hi,

just curious how everyone else is doing.. i am in my 12th week now and my tummy is already showing.. my colleague just asked why your tummy so big ? guessed i ate a lot during chinese new year..
:(

reei,

How's you visit on wed?seeing the doctor or just the nurse?
Yes, those classes are really popular. As this is my no. 2. I think i have enough experience, i am not going to book any of those classes.

UKlady,
even registered at the public hospital, it would be better that you also keep visit your own private doctor, as the public hospital is too busy to handle too many mom-to-be.
I visit both as well.

Hi I'm due 30th July with 1st baby. So far all is going well. Trying to decide what to do about prenatal classes as the hospital I'm going to only offers them in Cantonese. Any suggestions?

i know QE (queen of elizthbath hospital in jardon.. somewhere close to TST) will offer prenatal classes in English, for non-cantonese speaker. however they are all very full, i can check it out for you during my next visit.
