Hi all: I am new here and the doctor has estimated that I am about 7 weeks pregnant (my first time!). I wondered when everyone in this group was able to see/hear the baby's heartbeat (I have an appointment with the doctors in a few days and want to know what to expect)? I read online that once you are able to see/hear the baby's heartbeat that the risks of miscarriage is much less? Nervous after reading about how the first trimester is potentially a "dangerous" time! Looking forward to your responses. Kind regards, A

Don't worry, sure all will be fine! I had my first ultra sound last week (6weeks pregnant) and we saw the heart beating (I did not sleep the night before !!!!). I guess each time you will have to meet with your baby it will be stressful but try to be as zen as possible :).

Yes, try not to worry or think about it all too much (impossible, I know!). Going through this for the third time, I still get nervous before each doctor's appointment during the first trimester. We were able to hear the heartbeat at the first ultrasound, at 6 weeks 6 days.
Try to take it easy, rest when you can, and just relax :)

Tori: I'm keen on a meet up! There is a slight possibility we might take a last minute overnight trip during the 7 September weekend (long weekend). But if not, I'll be there! Weekdays are fine too (but dinner probably better than lunch?).

Great meeting you all last week! Welcome and congrats to the new mamas! I will be out of town on the 7th. But my days off are Sundays and Mondays so I am flexible then. Going for my 10 week ultrasound this Monday... Fingers crossed!!! Hope to see you all soon.

I can do a brunch on the 7th if it still works? Otherwise dinner one evening after work would probably be better than a lunch for now.

Just wanted to say that we just booked a weekend away so I can't make brunch on 7 September!

I would love to meet some of you here so I wondered if anyone else was free for dinner and chat on 11 September (Thursday) at Life Cafe (2nd level), Soho at say 8pm? This is a bit of a hard time (given I'm not telling anyone till the 2nd tri) - so it would be good to commiserate! Let me know if anyone is keen to meet then!
