Hi
I've just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant after our first round of IVF(yess!) and hopeful we will get through to the 12 week stage and beyond..
Wondered if there was anyone else out there at a similar stage, how are you feeling and what are your next steps?

Congrats Soph! I'm 5 weeks now too... Super excited! Just got myself some pre-natal vitamins and i will be making an appointment for check up this week.

congrats SophsW! I am due mid March (almost 11 weeks now!). At 5 weeks, and pretty much during this entire first trimester, I was/am tired and hungry all the time. Luckily, I don't have the other symptoms (i.e., morning sickness, headaches, etc.).

My doctor told me to continue taking my prenatals (with folic acid) and make sure everything I eat is fully cooked. She also advised I stop my daily running - she said to walk fast if I want to continue exercising. She said swimming is also good. And obviously, no drinking and smoking and reduce caffeine intake. Aside from that, theres really not much else the doctor advised.

My next appt with the doctor is for my screening test.

Congratulations all! I'm also around 6 weeks, I have an appointment tomorrow to confirm. Fingers crossed all is ok. I'm feeling a little nauseous (but could be a side affect from the pre natal supplements?) and mega tired today. Good luck to you all x

Congrats all!! All good advice thanks mingaling. Am definitely feeling the tiredness but luckily only a bit of nausea & dizzyness so far.

I've now got a scan with IVF clinic next week to (cross fingers) hear a heartbeat so should hopefully feel very real then. Don't have any other antenatal apts sorted so will see who the clinic advise me to go to for rest of pregnancy.

Good luck all x

Hi all, I had my first appointment on Tuesday to confirm. It was all good and got to see the heart beat from an ultrasound. I'm 6 weeks 6 days and due April 11th!
Hope all goes well for you all - it's such a nerve racking time x

Hi girls,

Very new to Geobaby! Found out on the weekend that I'm also 5 weeks pregnant!! Am still in a little shock as we literally only started trying last month (2 weeks ago). Have felt very nauseas & tired the last week. Couldn't believe I was pregnant on Saturday so I tool 2 Clearblue digital tests & 2 of the normal ones & all came back positive!

Where about's is everyone in HK? I'm in Happy Valley.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone & to go through this very exciting journey together.

Sarah

Hi Sarah, congratulations!
I'm originally from the UK but living in Wan Chai so just next to you.
Ours came as a bit of a shock too!
Just counting down to get to 12 weeks and hopefully getting rid of the tiredness and nausea.

Hi Ladies

I'm only newly expecting - 5 weeks along (very early days) - have a scan in a couple of weeks to check heart beat etc and confirm due dates but definitely due April. I'm in Wanchai.

no symptoms yet but it's all a bit of a suprise so I guess the shock is masking any morning sickness!

looking forward to the months ahead!

xx

I am due March 14 (now in week 11) with my first baby.... I am feeling much better already, not so tired anymore and no nausea anymore.
I live in Tai Po.

Hi Pumi26. I am also due march 14!!!! My first baby as well.

Just had my downs scanning done today and things look good! Just like you, all my symptoms is starting to fade...it's quite nice :)

Oh, how cool is that!?!

My downsyndrome scan was cancelled because my due date changed. New appointment in early October but I think I will just cancel it.

Hi everyone
Had the 7 week scan - heartbeat & size all looking good & feel over the moon (along with sore boobs, nausea & tiredness..!) Hope you're all doing ok.
Anyone looking at hospital options or is it too soon? Thinking of going public to QMH x
I'm in mid levels.

Hi and congratulations to all!
I am very early days- 6 weeks! Due end of April 2014. Had a blood test that confirmed pregnancy but my HCG levels weren't as high as expected for six weeks so had another test today. Nervous! Hoping its just because I have long cycles...

congratulations again ladies!

So... I guess i'm that 1 in 5 they talk about! Had my first scan yesterday at 7 weeks (absolutely sure on dates) - was super excited because I've been waiting 3 weeks since finding out about the little peanut!

but it didn't go well... Baby was only 0.25cm (5 week growth) instead of 1.5cm with a heart rate of 68bpm (should be over 100)... have another scan on Friday to check for growth and or confirm miscarriage... Doc wasn't confident - and ran us through our options for finalising things come Friday.

It's such a numbing feeling to have something so exciting taken away in an instant... but... this is life and I cling to the thought that this is natures way of telling us this peanut wasn't right for us.

xx

Hi Lilfish- I'm really sad to hear that- how did things go with the second scan?
I really hope all went ok for you.
My first scan is next Wednesday (8 weeks).

Hi Jcg. Had the second scan on Friday - as expected, there was no heart beat... it doesn't matter how much the doc prepares you, there is still that little bit of hope that you hold on to and fight for... I had officially miscarried at 7wks 4 days.

looking back, I think there was a small part of me that was relieved - the thought of ongoing problems and risks to the baby related to low heart rate (which are in the high % for a low rate of under 70bpm), or a later stage miscarriage would have been unbearable and far more traumatic.

enjoy your pregnancies and babies girls! they are a blessing and a priviledge

I'm really sorry lilfish. That mut have been really difficult. Wishing you all the best for next time.
