I am in my second trimester. Just starting to notice very dry skin falling off on the belly. Can anyone recommend a good brand organic oil? Thanks

Another vote for coconut oil....works really well and smells fab!

I think the best stuff is meant to be cold-pressed, which you can buy from health stores...you can use it for cooking or as a moisturiser etc (but maybe not both!). I think cooking coconut oil which isn't cold-pressed isn't as good for your skin....but not sure why! But bet someone on this forum will know :)

I use virgin coconut oil cold pressed. also body shop cocoa body butter. they also have a special cocoa body butter stick for pregnant women.

The best moisturizer for dry skin problem is SR Lotion. It even takes care of blemishes. When you have dry and flaky skin, it means you need to exfoliate and moisturize at least twice a week. After each exfoliation, apply SR lotion in the affected area, the skin will look better and smoother. I have used this in mine and I was amazed that I could still enjoy good skin at this age.

I used Palmer's Cocoa butter or Coconut oil.

I also always (24/7) wore a stretchy maternity belly band made by nylon and lycra to avoid all the product over my clothes and keep it moisturizing my skin, also very convenient to have it in between skin and nails when itchiness attacked! But I always tried (very hard...) to rather use my finger tips.

In my case also helps having showers with warm water and not using soap on that area too often.

Hope to help.

Cheers!

I use Bio-Oil https://www.bio-oil.com/ for both my pregnancies. I wasn't using it as diligently for the first one, so I ended up with some stretch marks. The 2nd time around, I made sure that I apply some after a shower and before bed. I'm almost 32 weeks in with a bigger tummy this time... have not noticed any new stretch marks (fingers-crossed).
