My husband and are grateful to Dr. Patrick Chan for giving us the peace of mind to enjoy the rest of our Sunday after seeing him at the hospital yesterday for sharp abdominal pain (I'm 17 weeks prego).
The GP on call could not reach my regular OB/GYN and called Dr. Patrick Chan. Even though I'm not one of his patients, he met me at the hospital on Sunday morning and patiently and kindly explained 1) he wanted to do an ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy wasn't causing the pain and 2) rule out other serious potential complications such as liver, apendix, gall stones, etc.. It ended up that I just had some indigestion. He even called me in the evening to make sure I was fine.
He patiently explained everything to me in a non-patronizing way. He also gave me the options to 1) to see him right away or to see if the pain would settle 2) to medicate or not 3) to stay at the hospital for observation or not.
We're happy with our regular OB/GYN, but it is very tempting to switch to Dr. Chan.
