Dr Browns Bottles - Rethink

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all feeling well.

I know on our last Saturday meet-up I mentioned I bought a Dr Browns bottle at the 'shop we love to hate'.

I have since found out they are selling old stock of these bottles, which are actually NOT BPA free. Dr Browns bottles changed to BPA free in Jan 2008, and the ones on sale are manufactured in 2007. I checked this out on the Dr Browns website to be sure.
So I will be returning the one I bought. Just thought it was worth a mention in case anyone else is shopping.

If anyone is interested in the Adiri bottles, there is a HK based company that sell them online - milkfactory.com.hk

Cheers,

Rach :flower:

Hi Rach, That's really interesting to know. Can you actually PM which shop that was to me?

For adiri, the website is milk-factory.com.hk (has a hyphen in it)

Why am I not surprised?

If anyone wants to bet against me, free scones at our next gathering if you think (and they actually give) Rachel her money back.

Hoping everyone is doing well,
Sarah

Dear Rach or Bubbly
Could you please PM me which shop you mean? And how does one tell when the bottle was manufactured?

I went back to the shop today and checked out the range again. The larger Dr Browns bottles are manufactured in 2006, smaller in 2007. You can find the date of manufacture on the side of the box. Both types are NOT BPA free, according to the Dr Brown website. The ones that do have 'BPA free' on the box, and were manufactured since jan 2008.

By the way, I also found ols stock of these bottles in another baby (chain) store yesterday.

I am guessing, but it feels like these shops just sell old/clearance/end of run stock here because they have a captive market.
