i have read in magazine that 1 of 1000 baby will have down syndrome. any idea about scanning for this?

There's also a blood test. The results tell you whether you are in at low risk or high risk of having a baby with Downs'

Don't worry too much, reei. depends on your age too. Incidence goes up if you have a baby after a cetain age, (36?). The blood and nuchail tests will tell you acucrately.

The incidence of Down's syndrome in a baby increases with increasing maternal age. The "OSCAR " teat assess certain hormones and uses ultrasound to assess the fetus at 11-13 weeks. The results of this will increase or decrease the probability of Down's syndrome.
