1/ could any one tell me where I can get a good female doula to accompany my wife along with my presence of course in the delivery room?? if so , any contact site or number ?

2/ I heard that they can be of immense value and lower the chance of any medical intervention or complications , does anyone have any comment on their usefulness from your own experience?

hi

you can try the Annerly Midwives. i beleive they have doula services there. i did my prenatal classes with them and they are wonderful!

you can do a search for their contact details in the directory of the site.

good luck!

Not sure if Louise does it too or not although I know she is a midwife.
Louise conducted our antenatal class and she has been really informative, supportive, etc. I am 33 weeks pregnant with my first child and with all my questions and concerns, I have called her up at various occasions - she has been fantastic!
Why dont u try calling them.

We used a doula and the peace of mind is fantastic. After attending a lot of pre-childbirth classes, we realized we knew just enough to be dangerous and wondered if we would remember any of it in the heat of the delivery. Our doula was recommended by the Ob-gyn and we checked her references so when delivery time came we knew someone in the room would know what she was doing. When the water unexpectedly broke on a Saturday night, our first call was to the doula. Didn't call the doctor until sometime the next morning.
