Does this look like umbilical cord infection?

Does this look like an infection? The umbilical cord fell off about 5 days ago. It still has a black scab looking thing. Occasionally we see some thing like either dry blood or dark yellow stuff on the diaper. I've been trying to clean it with 75% alcohol once a day. Thanks.

I think it's ok. That scab will fall off eventually. dried blood is definitely ok, the yellow stuff - i think a little bit is ok, if it's very oozy and the area around is red and swelly (which it doesn't seem to be), it could be infected.

okay, I guess we will monitor it for a few more days. the area is not red or smelly that I know of. it's just that the cord has fell off for a while and the left over red scab looking thing seems a bit moist and a bit blood and yellow stuff is still coming out. so we are a bit worried. hopefully it dries out soon.

yeah, we will if it turns red and oozy or something like that. it seems it's still borderline normal based on the information I see online. besides, we would literately live in the hospital if we go every time we are worried. first time parents here.
