Doc says give formula

I also read that the OP said at the last check up it was 3% meaning that particular check up, she also says that the baby has been gaining at each check up so maybe I too have misunderstood. Still, giving formula does not mean the baby will gain weight and I still think that if she believes she is giving enough feeds, that there are enough wet diapers and perhaps for peace of mind get another opinion...I can't tell you how many times I've had midwives roll their eyes at doctors who's only response to a [lower] rate of gain is "oh just them formula" without any other consideration...lol...I can't tell you how many times in Asia I've had to question doctors on why they want to do certain things just to be met with "that's what we do here'...these are quite particular things and on more than one occasion they have been wrong.
 
yeah like i said for, especially a first time mum, second opinions are priceless...also maybe getting in touch with le leche or a lactation consultant who also might be able to assist with any worries.

I was not online yesterday to reply, i went to the government health center for the 2 months check up, the pedia there was not worried with the birth weight as baby's pee/poo and development are all normal. Though she told me to give bmilk more often. They are very supportive of breastfeeding.

My private pedia is also supportive from the time i gave birth but kinda concern on the last check up with the birth weight so he suggested formula.

Well, what i plan to do is to give formula at night time regularly, then pump to increase my milk supply.

Thanks ladies for your comments, i will call LLL too on what else to do.
 
Well done crystal on getting all the information you needed and now knowing that all is well with you little baby! I think they are right, when all is good with wee's and poo's, usually everything else is ok! lol
