Do I need to buy new bottles?

I have 8 Dr. Brown bottles from my DD who is now 2, she hasn't been using a bottle since eight months ago. Can I use them for the new baby and just replace the parts or should I just brand new ones?
 
I don't think you need to buy new bottles. I would only change the teats and parts if they're worn out. We inherited Avent bottles from a cousin and they were fine.

Am expecting anytime now and have read the literature on how unsafe plastic milk bottles are. Although the findings pointed to Avent and Dr. Brown bottles, it was only that these were tested as they are the more well-known brands, which is not to say that other plastic bottles are safe. Unfortunately you cannot do anything about the last 8 months that your baby has been feeding from plastic bottles but I would have thought, better to be safe than sorry now you know. I found my glass NUK bottles in Sogo and I have also seen them at Eugene and at the Citysuper in Times Sq. I would say replacing them is a relatively small investment for peace of mind.
 
I have two types of Dr. Brown bottles. The white ones (made in USA) and the brown ones (made in UK and which subsequently changed their brand name to Bfree). The brown ones are suppose to be OK.
 
Thanks for the tips. I asked the sales at Eugene and she told me it's absolutely essential to buy brand new ones. I thought perhaps she just wanted me to buy stuff. I will be breastfeeding and the bottles are for pumped BM, so I am hoping they won't be used so frequently.

What's the problem with plastic bottles? The heating process?
 
i bought 3 new bottles for my 10 week old exclusively breastfed baby. i thought it would just be a little bit safer...although with everything around us now, you never know what could cause the next "big scare"
 
i have been thinking about switching to the nuk glass bottles. what about them breaking, ie baby dropping or throwing the bootle. isn't that a concern?
