Direct Hire from the Phillipines

Hi. Has anyone hired direct from the Philippines? My husband and I are thinking of hiring someone direct from the Philippines but are unsure of how to go about it? Do you know of an agency who will take up our case and process it on our behalf? Thanks

We hired our DH direct through Emry just 6 months ago. I paid around $3300. The cost cover body check and flight to HK.

All the Employment agencies will have a Database of helpers in the Phillipines. They'll select a few that meet your criteria, and ask you to come in and view their video interviews....similar to a dating service

I suggest you go though a agency, so if you need to you will be able to change helpers. I hired direct and ended up with a helper who only knew how to farm and not a bit about domestic chores, though I was promised she knew how.

I agree with kambo. Hiring direct can be risky even though the DH came highly recommended by someone, or sounded nice on the phone.

I have met the DH. She was working in HK but had her contract terminated as she requested for leave and her local employer disagreed to provide it.

She's now back in the Philippines. We are thinking of hiring her as the new DH we've just hired has a problem with punctuality, excessive use of the telephone and perpetual need to embelish the truth. You would think that the first week on the job, you'd still try to provide a good impression!
