Developmental Assessment - private pediatrician or govt health center?

My baby will be turning 2 and is due for a developmental assessment - are the govt health centers good places for the assessment, or should I try to find a private pediatrician for the tests?

Also any recommendations for pediatricians that will do such an assessment. We are particularly concerned about speech delay.
