Hi, I was wondering if there is anyone here who has recently delivered their babies in Tuen Mun Hospital and what is their review. I found a few threads on this but they are all from a long time ago and they're not good at all. Was wondering if things got better or are just the same...

Hi! I hope to get some answers too, I'll be delivering in Tuen Mun hospital next year. Fingers crossed the situation got better.

Where do you live? Do you have another choice? Unfortunately, I cannot change hospitals, because I live in Kam Sheung and that is the TM hospital's catchment area

My friend gave birth in Oct 2018 at TMH and said the experience was ok. No frills, get in and get out, that sort of thing. You'd be sharing a room with 19 other mums (including yourself is 20). Didn't get an in-depth details about the birth experience but from what I know it's not a "Horrid" hospital. Just don't expect much when you are admitted

Hey ya’ll.

I’m in the same situation. Will be delivering my baby in Tuen Mun Hospital and wanted to know how their care and service was. I believe you guys have already had your babies.
Would appreciate if you could share your experience with me.

One of the worst experience I have here and currently having. I was admitted on the 1st jul 10pm . After my husband dropped me off I was taken into the ward .My baby was born on 2nd and Once i was taken in my husband waited all night . He was never told if my delivery was sucess or the baby was safe etc. From what he told me when he was waiting out of the door He saw our baby being led into another ward when he jumped in joy approaching his baby the nurse told him the baby has breathing probs and rushed off with him. Worrying all night and morning he came back to visit me (cant meet baby due to covid) we both went to the babys ward and was not allowed to meet which i completly understand so we asked the nurse about the breathing problems and if hes safe .The nurse checked the records and there was nothing mentioned about breathing prblems. We asked when can the baby be discharged the nurse said not sure depends on the doc maybe 5-7 days as hes on anti biotics . It’s our first born and I have no clue about the medications and the procedure now that i m discharged but me and my husband have our anxieties up the roof. Everytime we come to the babys ward we are told to go back home and wait for the call and when they call they say” hes ok waiting for doctors approval” .

I gave birth to my 2nd & 3rd in TMH both Emmergency CS, if I were to compare it with my first birth (also emmergency CS, failed induction) which was at Pamela Youde, pamela wins hands down, but then I also knew not to expect too much from Public Hospitals, basically after my CS I was left alone to take care of myself because visiting hours are short and even though I was advised to stay at least 4 days, I firmly said I wanted to go home by 2nd day because I'd get much more "Rest" back at home , not to mention extra help getting up to go to toilet etc.

My sister gave birth at St.Paul's where she was treated like queen lol.
