Daytime versus Nightime napping area

I have a 3 month old baby that I've been trying to acclimate to a daytime and nightime routine for the past couple of weeks. Up until now, I would usually put him down in his bouncy chair in the living room for daytime naps which, in his case, aren't that long. At night, I'd put him in his moses basket next to me. But now he's too big for the basket and I have to start putting him in his crib. Is it a good idea to start putting him in the crib for his daytime naps also? What works better long term...to separate day and night time napping areas or to keep it all in the same place, i.e. his crib?

personally, i liked that my kids could/would sleep anytime, anywhere...that said, if i was at home, they always slept in their crib... when i was out, they slept in their sling, pram, car seat etc.

yes, i agree with the above as well. my 2nd son slept from birth in his crib for both daytime and nigh time sleeps. if we were out, he would just sleep in his stroller/carrier etc....

agree with the others - my daughters sleep wherever and whenever they are tired...from the stroller, to the carseat, crib, toddler bed, mattress on floor ....just makes things way easier for me so that i don't have to head home right before their nap time from wherever i am.
