Cord blood donation

Hi everybody.

I have been thinking about donating the cord blood. Storing it is expensive, and we may not need to use it. So why not donate it to someone in need, rather than wasting it?

I read that Red Cross accepts cord blood donation, but just on 2 public hospitals.... Does anyone know of any organization that would accept the cord blood as donation, if I deliver from a private hospital (Union Hospital)?

I was wondering if you were able to donate. I am giving birth in November and am interested in donating as well. And the Red Cross still has the same policy.
 
Hi Gimletme, I didn't do anything with my cord blood at the end. It was really a waste!
