Cord Blood Contamination

We have just been informed by the cord blood bank that our sample is contaminated with Enterococcus Faecalis, and that the blood can be treated with antibiotics when/if we need to use it in the future.

Has anyone of you experienced contamination of cord blood? What did you decide to do? Did you continue to store the blood?

I don't know, I'd look for a second opinion. I don't know much about cord blood, but it sounds suspisious to me. Why would they treat it later instead of now? considering the cost of storing it, I'd want to know for sure if this was even possible.I did a quick google, and these 2 sites seem to reflect that contamination means you don't use it at all.

I am looking at donating cord blood to a public bank and in their info sheet it says that if the sample is contaminated, it is never used.
