Confused...

I've recently arrived in HK and am 15 weeks pregnant. I'm struggling to understand the system over here. Could someone please explain how the link between doctors and private hospitals works? Who actually delivers the baby? Should I be getting a package with a doctor, a hospital or both?

If I'm paying $28,000 for a doctor and their charges don't include a room, what exactly am I paying them for!?

Likewise, if I pay a private hospital $28,000, am I just paying for a room? If so, I may as well stay at the Mandarin for 3 days (and have a 'home birth')!

I would suggest you get a package from your Dr which includes delivery charges and prenatal care.

You'll also need to get a package from the hospital to cover your room, the labor (by mid-wives), and the delivery.
