Hello, i am a first time mom due in the next few weeks and concerned about the whole issue of vaccinations and their associated risks.
I have been reading Dr Sears 'The Vaccine Book', and discovered that levels of aluminum and thimerosal may be too high when giving babies vaccinations, epecially the number of vaccinations given at a time. The issue for me is not whether to vaccinate, as i think this is necessary, but whether to space out the vaccinations that are considered risky in terms of the levels of aluminum, themerosal and the risk of developmental problems like autism etc...
My question is has anyone else got this worry and has anyone actually tried to space out the vaccinations or considering doing this? Any thoughts on this and on which paediatrition is most agreeable/easy to discuss these options with?
According the Dr Sears the levels of aluminum in vaccines may be too high if given together in the format suggested by the American Academy of Pediatrics and he suggests an alternative which is to limit the ones given with aluminum/themerosal to one at a time, so that levels are not reaching toxic. Also suggests asking for brands that contain less or none of these chemicals when you do get them.
