Clumsiness

UGH - just got through with the worst scare! I couldn't get my leg up high enough and tripped over my doggie gate and fell FLAT on my stomach! Knocked the wind out of myself, and definitely felt cramping in the stomach area.

I immediately called my doctor and rushed to his office for a scan. Baby is fine, THANK GOODNESS! But I am ordered to relax tonight and count movement, watch for heavy bleeding and/or contractions!

Just a reminder to everyone with a growing baby bump - take it easy, be careful and remember you are not as agile as you used to be!!!

I definitely learned my lesson!!!

I'm glad you both are ok!!

I've been "off balance" a lot but haven't fallen - I have NEARLY fallen more times than I can count!! I was the clumsiest kid, it's a miracle that I haven't fallen yet!

Thanks for reminding us all to be careful!!

Thanks guys! baby is kicking and moving just fine this evening. I guess there is tons of padding in there for him.

I have laid on the couch all afternoon since getting back from the Dr. and am just starting to feel the stiffness in my arm and leg, i guess from trying to take the brunt of the fall...

I was in total shock this afternoon when it happened! Things had been going so well up until then, i guess it just taught me that I need to slow down, we're not in second trimester anymore! :)

Take care of yourselves and see you on Monday for a much-needed relaxing lunch!

What a shock! Glad everyting is ok!
Was missing you at yoga evening yesterday - now I know why!!!

Take it easy and see you Monday!

Oh my goodness. Glad everything is ok. Very scary though that's sure.

Take it easy and no more climbing gates!!

Only just read this, hope all is fine! How scary is that... i would have burst into tears straight away I think! We are all getting clumsier so be careful, everyone!

I was reading in a pregnancy book - and it said that the baby is SOOO well cushioned in there that a fall would usually have to hospitalise the mother to have any impact on the baby. Of course there's nothing wrong with being extra cautious though!! But it is good to know that generally speaking, the baby's VERY well protected in there, and we mothers will take the brunt of any fall we might have...

Just heard from another girlfriend that her friend actually fell so hard she broke her leg during her last trimester, and baby was fine!

I just couldn't help but think of all those darn TV shows where someone slips in the shower and the loses the baby! It totally did bring me to tears! But not to worry, everything is fine - baby's movements are fine, no spotting or bleeding or early labor - THANK GOODNESS!!!

Just take care of yourselves ladies!! Oh, and i am officially going to start carrying around a spray bottle and spraying those nasty people who don't stand up for us on the bus, MTR, tram, etc. and who don't hold open doors - soooo rude! (if it works for dogs, it might work for them right?!?) :)
