Clothing?

Hi there, it is time for me to buy some maternity clothes for work and weekend. jeans seem easy to find but the rest?! i ventured to HMV but they seem to be short on tops that would suit and the quality wasnt good. Zara quality was good but if you are xs. Can anyone point me in the right direction to fashionable/trandy clothes that are affordable in central? many thanks in advance.

There is Formes in Central (behind Marks & Spencer) which are good quality and have a variety of sizes. However, they are not cheap.

Do an internet search and order from o/s. Beware of US websites that don't take o/s credit cards and don't ship outside the US.

You may want to try Linea Negra at Pacific House or the Sono Vaso range available at Bumps to Babes at Pedder Building. I find it easier to mix and match from normal High Street brands and only buy skirts, trousers and maybe jackets (in fact I have not bought any tailored jackets, just a long knitted cardigan) from maternity shops. Most maternity styles look very similar, and you tend to pay a premium for conventional styles in not so great fabrications.

You can try MotherWorld in WingOn department store at Sheung Wan - I manage to buy most of my work trousers there and the prices are affordable. Am wearing them for the second time round at the moment with long cardigans (need not be maternity wear) for cooler weathers. Anyway, the fashion trend this season seems to be all into long tops so I manage to find long tops at local shops to cover my bump and these can be worn again after I've given birth. Saw some nice tops at M&S too.

you can also try BUN IN THE OVEN. she has a website and is located in sai kung, but will courier the stuff over to you. I really liked her stuff.

I've also bought some nice and not-too-expensive maternity clothes from Mother Court on 1/F Melbourne Plaza. They stock some nice Italian labels (Menonove, Sara etc.) altho they're a bit limited on the size front.

Hi, yes I am still here (Fiona from Bun in the Oven)! ... I have rebranded as Creation Maternity and you can now buy a selected range in Bumps to Babes in Pedder Street or you can order online with delivery from the UK (www.creationmaternity.com). Thanks for the recommendation Carang! Rani, my new email is [email protected]

I saw some Bun in the Oven items in Bumps to Babes today.
I have bought jeans, pants and a dress from the Sono Vaso range and find I live in them! H & M had some great stuff in their normal womens wear range, I prefered these to the actual maternity range.
