Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor

I'm just wondering whether anyone has tried "Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor" (digital OPK test). For those who have, how did you find it? And where can I buy one in Hong Kong? I've been TTC for the last 3 months (still a newbie) and have found OPK testing to be a bit ambiguous.

Your feedback is appreciated.
 
You can't find it in HK. I bought mine in Singapore. It's a wonderful machine and got me pregnant! Perhaps you can get someone to buy it for you in Singapore.
 
Thanks vchua. Hubby will be in Singapore next week so I'll ask him to check it out. Can I just get it at any pharmacy? Congratulations on your pregnancy too.
 
Please HELP!

I really want to try the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor as I have read a lot of user comments online (in USA), seems that it's really of help.

But this product is unavailable in HK, I browsed online, some USA online drugstores do have this product but the shipping charge itself costs nearly HK$400 (the monitor and the test sticks cost around HK$1650).

The message above mentioned it could be found in Singapore. May I ask specifically WHERE in Singapore that I can buy this product? Many thanks.
 
Colourprinter. I've read in other forums that you can find it at any pharmacy in Singapore - Guardian or Watsons - some say you can even find it at Changi Airport. I didn't end up getting it because I fell pregnant sooner than expected, but I heard it provides more accuracy than OPKs which are very much subjective. All the Best. Autumn.

Dear Autumn Leaves, thank you so much for your sharing. I think I really need it as the basal temperature method doesn't help me much. I actually have no friends staying in Singapore, therefore I am thinking if I would take a short trip to Singapore for vacation :haha: and get the product - IF I don't want to pay the shippping charge via the online shopping.

They do sell the LH level/ovulation measuring kits (the ones with disposable tests) at Mannings, Watsons and Fanda. That is all I have seen in HK. You can try those first and see if that helps. :)

Dear Colourprinter. Thanks for your kind wishes! I used Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs) available from pharmacies like Watsons or Mannings in Hong Kong. They're a bit pricey though in the long-run and come in packs of 5 normally. I used Clearblue OPKs and Watsons OPKs at the same time to compare results. In hindsight after falling pregnant I found Clearblue was more accurate (Watsons OPKs indicated ovulation for 10 days in a row while Clearblue OPKs only a couple of days). That was my experience anyway. I'm sure others have found the more affordable brands just as effective. Only drawback with Clearblue is that it's expensive. All the Best and baby dust to you. Thank you so much for telling me this. I will go get the Clearblue OPKs first as I guess I couldn't find the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor within a short period of time. I have been trying to conceive for 2 years, I do think I need some OPKs on top of the basal temperature measuring. By the way, may I ask if it's better to have sex once per two days during the ovulating period?

Do feel happy for your pregnancy. So far is it tough, any morning sickness? I hope things are all alright to all mommies to be. Take care.

The packaging in HK is different from the one show in the website. But packaging aside, I used something like the one in the first link ('non-digital' where you just 'pee-on-a-stick' and wait for the results to show in the panel).

This website gave me some direction at the start. Perhaps you'd like to have a browse or just do a simple Google search on OPKs.

Sorry, I didn't read your earlier message.

I guess it's up to you how many times you 'baby dance' during your ovulating period. Some recommend every other day if you're not sure just to cover your bases.

As for morning sickness, I've been really blessed. I've had no morning sickness or nausea.

Try the OPKs. It's worth a shot. :gl:

The ones that are referenced above are the ones I was referring to. They cost about HK$266 at Fanda, Mannings and Watsons.

It's really so kind of you! I would rush to Watson/Mannings to get the OPKs that you mentioned. I am in need of some "technical assistance" here and now.

Well I have had no luck with the testing - tested for 6 days (bought 2 kits) and as yet no LH surge. Should I go get the ovulation blood test at the doctor's or give this some more time. My cycle is 28-30 days and started testing at day 11, and now we are 16 with no result. :(

I am seriously stressing about this, and my doctor is fairly unhelpful. "If you want to get the blood test, do it. If not, then don't do it." - not much help there, eh? :(

I had two natural cycles after stopping the pill, ranging from 30 to 35 days. On the safe side, I used OPKs starting from around day 11 until I got a positive LH surge on day 19. I started on day 11 because one of the biggest textbook myths is that you ovulate on day 14 (if only we all did!). As it turned out I ovulated on day 19 so it can happen later for some folks.

Jaetee, I know it's frustrating to constantly "pee" on that stick and see no positive result, but perhaps testing for longer might help. I felt like I had to wear different disguises each time I went to Watsons to replenish my OPKs, but just to satisfy my own curiosity I kept using them. I also charted at the same time so I was lucky enough to see a corresponding increase in my basal body temperature.

I'm not sure how fast the turnaround time is for blood tests which test ovulation in HK. I know in Australia if you take a test in the morning they can sometimes have the result by the afternoon. If it's not immediate, but you get a positive result, at least this might de-mystify when you ovulate. Hope this helps!

I did read a lot of other online forums talking about the ovulation days, surprisingly, a lot of women said that they ovulated on Day 19 and 20 rather than 14 or 15. They would not know that if they didn't use OPK. Jaetee, perhaps your ovluation day is a bit later too. Keep trying and you shall have the good result :)
