Cleaning/sterlizing breast pump

I need to pump a least a few times a day and so far I have washed and sterilized the pump every time before use. I have heard that it is "safe" to just sterilize the pump once at the end of the day?
Please share your experience with me, it is getting very tiring to wash and sterilze like 4-5 times a day on top of tending to baby other needs.
Thanks!

I bought extra breast shields, bottles and valves so that I could just wash them at the end of the day (although I would rinse them immediately after use) and sterilise them once per day.

I too had 2 sets of shields. For the first 2 months I always used a sterilized set but after that I would just pump, then store the used shields in the fridge in a clean plastic ziplock bag.

i sterilise my pump once at the end of the day. However, I will rinse with hot water after every other wash. In fact, the midwife at Matilda Hospital told me that there's anti-infectant agent in the breast milk(can't remember the exact term for it), so it doesn't really harm if the pump is not thoroughly washed. Also, if you sterilise too often, the heat will actually shorten the life-span of the pump. This happened to my Avent pump!

I am using the manual ISIS Avent pump. Should I just store the whole pump in Ziploc and fridge? After using can I just put the whole pump back to fridge( with some milk trace) or do I need to wash and clean and put back to fridge? or just wash and airdry outside and use hot water at the next use...?
