For CIS reception year students, what type of schools did they attend before joining CIS? What types of school would prep them well for CIS?

Last year, one of my friend's child attended the interview at CIS and 30 mins was conducted in Mandarin. Therefore if neither parent speaks Mandarin at home, you might need to consider a preschool that has a strong Mandarin emphasis.

part of the interview is in mandarin as they want to know the children's levels, vocab etc...I know students who have attended IMS, Tutor Time and Woodlands who have gone to CIS. CIS is a tough school to get into!

So to get into reception the child must know how to speak Some Mandarin?
