Circumcision?

Our new arrival is just around the corner - this will be our third, but our first delivery in HKG. I will be at QMH and was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me if circumcisions are offered following delivery at the hospital...I can't seem to find any information on it elsewhere. Thanks!

At Matilda (as well as the hospital we used in the US for the first child), you had to arrange it with the paediatrician. He does it at the hospital, but the hospital does not arrange it.

Hi, as QMH is a government hospital I am pretty sure they won't offer circumcision unless medically necessary.

If you want to opt for circumcision am pretty sure you will have to find a private paedietrician and hospital.

Bekyboo44 is right the Govt will only perform circumcisions when medically necessary. We signed up with the Govt Student Health Scheme for Primary students. We had our first appt during Easter. The physical exam included retracting the child's foreskin. This is when the Drs evaluate if a circumcision is necessary. The boys are age 5.

My friend gave birth twice in QMH and both her boys had circumcision - I will try and find out more for you but I know they had it done before she even left the hospital.
I will try and find out the Dr.s name too.

My friend said to call Eunice Wong, she used her twice and highly recommended her. She said she is separate from the hospital but cost around $2000 for the whole thing. You can contact her on 28582183. Hope this helps, good luck and regards

my girlfriend delivered both her boys at QMH and about four - six weeks after the birth they returned to QMH for circumcision.

there was no medical necessity for the procedure.

circumcision

We had our son's done at Matilda, Out patient procedure, with Dr Ruling Fuong (Central Health Medical Practice). She has been great and if I had another son, I'd call her again.
Good luck!
