My son was 9 months, so crucially still in nappies (good from a healing perspective that he couldn't access the area). We had a scan first to really establish if it was necessary (catheter put in and then baby had to pee while scanned). To be honest I was more worried about that procedure than the actual circumcision. As it happened, it was totally fine - not much discomfort at all.
The actual op was a day procedure of around 45 mins, but we were in from early morning to mid afternoon (Adventist). Dr John Ngan was the pediatric urologist we used, he was very good with pre and post care also.
My son did not seem to be overly discomforted afterwards, although the area was definitely sensitive afterwards when changing nappies.
All in all, glad we got it done as opposed to leaving and him having a potential problem down the line when it would be much more serious an operation and recovery.
FYI, the procedure was VERY expensive (for a short op). We were lucky our insurance covered everything, but I would check that aspect out first.
