Christening in HK

Hello,
I would like to christen my 1 year old boy in Catholic Church.
I have required in Church on Caine Rd - apparently I need the christening certificates of god parents and mine and my husbands.. we were all christened but, we dont have any certificates...

Is it so complicated to do in HK??
Please advise, if someone knows, if its possible to make it easier way..

That's the way it's done here. You should be able to get your baptism certificate from the church where you were baptized. Just call to ask them. That's what we did for my husband who was baptized in Australia
 
Hi Maria12, sorry, I can't answer your question right now but I have a question for you. Do you regularly go to the Caine Rd church? I would like to have my son christened there but not sure whether you have to attend regularly / the priest knows who you are or whether you can do it just because you are catholic. Do you know?

My daughter was baptized Catholic a couple months ago. My husband and I were married in the Cathedral on Caine Rd so we wanted to have my daughter baptized there as well. But they said that we must get her baptized in our "home parish" which is determined by where you live. So we ended up having to get her baptised at St Anne's which was very nice. We simply joined as new members of the parish, met the priest who agreed to baptize her, and submitted the documents:

1. Parent's baptism certificate (just 1 parent needs to be Catholic)
2. Godparent's baptism certificate (you only need 1 godparent)
3. Marriage certificate
4. Proxy letter (because our daughter's godparent lives in the US) and couldn't be in HK for the baptism

It's easy to get copies of your baptism certificate. Just call the church where you were baptized.

It's a little bit more complicated.
I am Russian Orthodox and my husband is English Catholic.
We don't practice/don't go to church etc. Although I would like to baptise my son.
The church on Caine Road I picked, because of it convenient location.
It seems that would be easier to do in Russia (as no certificates are required there). Although, the godfather should be my husband's friend, who lives in London, and would come to HK for this occasion....
