Choosing a helper

Hi,

I need some advice regarding hiring a helper. I am pregnant and will need a helper this spring. I am considering hiring a girl who has worked in HK before and quit to have her own baby. Now she wants to return to HK as a helper. Besides the fact that I feel very guilty that she would be leave her own child, I am concerned that she may try and use my child to fill her own void. Do any of you have opinions on this or personal experience?

My helper has a little girl in the Philippines and it has only been a positive for us. She has good advice and keeps me from inventing serious illness every time the baby sneezes!

I think it has helped her mentally also - sadly she has to be here for financial reasons and to be around our baby is something she loves. Everyone is different though, your helper may react differently when she actually has to leave.
