Children Bedroom

Hello,

I'm thinking about touching up the bedroom of my daughters, age 3 1/2 and 2. As we just bought the furniture recently, I'd like to repaint the wall, and maybe add some stencils or wall murals. Anybody can recommend any good hire? How about DIY? Is it possible in HK?

I have bought some beautiful pasted cutouts for my daughters' rooms from this site. They deliver very quickly and they are very easy to paste up your self (no need for extra adhesive)

Decorating kids bedrooms

I have found the cheapest and most pleasant way to decorate my kids rooms is with their own artwork. They have brought back things from school since they were 2 years old, so using their little art projects to decorate the walls makes the place cheerful and lets them feel proud and allows me to cull the masterpieces.

I use blue-tac to hold them up.

If your kids don't go to school yet, they probably do some sort of drawings at home or at playgroup, use those.

As for paint, we chose a color that was light and that could scrub well. A lot of paints in HK are water based and if your try to scrub the walls, you remove the paint.

Photographs of absent family members are also a nice thing to put up. My son has a great photo of my aunt with her horse on his door.

Thank you everybody. Have checked wallies.com, do they deliver to HK? Heard about CDI too. Can I find stencils/wall murals in HK? How about those shops on Lockhart Rd/Wanchai?

Ollyvia,

I haven't seen stencils in the hardware stores. You may find some at the artland in wanchai, www.artland.com.hk

Also if you're good at DIY you can make your own.

Wallies does deliver to HK. I've used them twice and it only takes about a week for your order to be delivered.
