Cheapest place to buy diapers?

Where's the cheapest place to buy diapers? I'm just talking about regular Pampers, Huggies. not even looking for the exotic choices like japanese diapers.

Diapers are sold in so many places but i too large now (8.5 mths pregnant) to do a price comparison:
Park n Shop?
Mannings?
Bumps to Babes?
Eugene Club?
Online websites? (which ones pls)

NOT bumps to babes or eugene club (hard to find ANYTHING cheap in either place)

just do park'n'shop or welcome....mannings/watson's are about the same. there might be a couple of dollars difference.

you can order online from park'n'shop AND welcome.
 
by FAR the cheapest is to buy cloth.... i'm REALLY wishing we had done that! in the short term it seems expensive, but really long-term MUCH cheaper.
 
Sealers are cheaper than pampers , huggies and for us as we had no leakage issues and they are available at mannings only
 
Nappies and baby wipes (pampers / huggies and Johnson's) are significantly cheaper at local dispensaries/pharmacies. We get ours in Kennedy Town or Aberdeen as they are nearby to us.

In fact most toiletries are cheaper there and they carry brands such as Olay, Nivea, Nutrogena etc. a lot cheaper than chains like Watsons etc.
 
Agree with LeahH. Local shops have better deals on diapers--Park n' Shop, Wellcome and Mannings can't even come close to to their prices for disposable diapers.
 
carang, re: disposable diapers. i used them for my first (who's about your 1st's age) but find them too hot for the summer. did you have the same problem? they're either fleece (r u kidding in 33 degrees outside?!) or very thick cotton. which brands do you use?
 
Diapers are cheaper at pharmacy, absolutely right! You can try Pampers extra thin, we use them. Normally when u find it cheap it costs around 130 dollars for 84 pieces, but the price changes almost everyday, sometimes also over 140 dollars.
 
joannek... do you mean the cloth nappies?

i tried using the old style nappies with my first as i had ever intention of using cloth only... that very quickly went out the window. i REALLY wish i'd bought the new style cloth nappies. i have a friend who swears by them. yes, you spend $900 or so to start with, but they last so long!

my youngest is 2.5 now and although she's VERY advanced in most areas, she doesn't like to use the toilet. she knows how and has done it in the past, but lately not. she brings me a nappy and wet ones and says, "here mummy, i just did a chow-chow! i need a clean nappy." honestly this past summer has been so crazy hectic, i haven't had the chance to really give it a go. once my son is back at school next week, that is priority one... get little miss stubborn out of nappies!
 
carang: oh gosh, yes, i mean cloth nappies. which brand do you use? they're way too hot for the summer or for the most part of hk weather.
 
We use Bum Genius brand of reusable nappies and they have been fine for summer. We chose them because they come in one size which adjusts. Better and cheaper than having to buy the ones where you need two sizes as the baby gets bigger.

I believe that Mothercare in the UK sells them so you may be able to order them through Mothercare in HK if they have them in the catalogue.

apparently jusco is having their "baby fair" right now... so some of the items (including diapers, bottles formula) are discounted...
 
We used bum genius too, and love them. The fact that the size adjusts is really great, and I'm sure we've saved tons ofmoney this way, especially considering that when we have our second child, we can just reuse these. The only thing is that our washer here is so small that I can't do a full load and I feel like I'm constantly doing laundry. It was much easier back home with a full-size washer and dryer. We've started using more and more disposibles just to keep the laundry under control.
 
We use(d) (DS is mostly daytime potty trained now) cloth nappies (modern style) and I haven't found them too hot.

I think they're actually better than sposies because the cloth allows for better airflow which keeps baby's bum cooler. We use bumgenius, fuzzi bunz, haute pockets and a few others, as well as some organic cotton and bamboo dipes.
 
BabyLove & PetPet

Both of these are made by Dispo and usually costs about HK$1 per diaper for M size. The latter is available at ParkNShop and the former at local pharmacies. BabyLove is plastic lined, so great for going out while PetPet has a more breathable cloth-like exterior. My children both have sensitive skin, but were fine with either.
 
Has anyone used those cheap brands from Welcome, or Mannings? I saw that they just cost half of the price of Pampers or Huggies.
