cheap playgroups

hi, anyone knows any cheap playgrounds around? somewhere decent and safe that we can bring babies to play, for them to meet without having to fork out $150 each time?
 
You can try the YMCA Parents & Toddlers. There's one located in Tsim Sha Tsui and Central.

When your child is older you might want to try the playground on the 5th floor of Grand Century Plaza, located at Mongkok KCR. It's next to the food court. It's also the same floor where all the kiddie shops are. Eugene is located on the 6th floor.
 
I've found that my LO just enjoys the company of other babies and the stimulation of new faces/surroundings/toys. So, for me, taking her to informal 'playgroups' hosted at people's flats works well (combined w/1 or 2 more structured 'classes'). Look at the threads under 'Playgroups' on this or other sites.
Or PM me. Depending on where you live and how old your child is, I may be able to hook you up.

I called the YMCA but they only have a playgroup in TST, does anyone know where their Central playgroup is (the one mentioned in this thread)?

it sounds great, for 55hkd per session, cheapest i've seen in HK. Anyone who has tried this? feedback? thanks

We tried this in 2003 and really enjoyed it. Definitely worth the cost...
 
we are going on friday for HKCE group 2 hours for HKD 60.00 Will let u know the details on saturday
 
St stephens stanley

there's a playgroup held every morning, mon - thurs at St Stephens school in Stanley I think it's about $55, no helpers just parents, great place to meet people. I am afraid I don't know the contact details.

Hey there.. Ive tried this playgroup.. Its pretty good for $55, a lot of free play and they have circle time with a story and song singing as well. Its not the best playgroup around, but its a great way to meet other mommies in the area, and eventually have one-to-one playdates.
 
it is 500 registration fee and then hkd 60.00 per turn. this for 6 months. otherwise u pay hkd 80.00 per turn u attend which is still quite cheap comparetively and it is ok. right now more kids are between 2-5.
