Change to Nan HA 2 at 6 months?

I am getting mixed messages about changing to Nan HA 2. Baby is turning 6 months in a week. According to manufacturer advice, we're supposed to change to #2. But some moms are telling me that #2 has less nutrients hence lower price. And there's increased protein which might be bad for babies with eczema.

Your input on the subject is much appreciated.

In my opinion, it is not good to change the milk powder for the 6-month-old baby so early.
Maybe the baby cannot adapt it so fast.
Please try to still let him/her drink the #1 formula, until she is 9-month-old. Healthy is more important than saving money.

I changed my baby to Nan Ha 2 at 7 months and she got really constipated. I then called her doctor and he told me that it was not necessary to change to stage 2. He told me i could stay on stage 1 until she turns 12 months and then switch her to fresh milk. I also frequently take her to the well baby clinic at the matilda for checkups and they also adviced me it was not necessary to change her to stage 2 formula.

Iron

Hi,

In Belgium we are told that by 6 months the baby's resources of iron etc. which mom gave them during pregnancy has run out. NAN HA2 contains more iron (and some other things) than NAN HA1. That's why we switch to a number 2 milk around the period of 6 months.
I was very surprised upon arrival here a couple of weeks ago that the formula market here doesn't distinguish between #1 and #2 formula, as I will soon need one for my 4,5 month old daughter.

In Malaysia, the Nan HA1 is from birth to 1 year old, and Nan HA2 is from 1-2 years old. I dont know what is the difference between the Nan in HK and the one in Malaysia but i guess it's ok to continue HA1 until one year old.
