I am having real trouble with Art Deco in wanchai.

Apparently they just have too many jobs on. I want to get a play table built which is bigger than the ones you see in the shops. In the end they returned my deposit as they cant do the job until the end of February and the price kept going up anyway.

All I need is a reliable carpenter who can make up a table painted blue and white, based on a very simple drawing. Tried asking custom furniture makers. I think they are too scared to do children's furniture.

Anyone, got any idea where I could get something like this made up?

You could try and make it yourself. We made a train table for D. It was a fun weekend project. Bought the instructions of ebay. Went to a wood shop on Wellington St and they pre-cut all the wood. All we needed to do is put it all together and paint it. My hubby is not the DIY type at all. The instructions were fairly easy to follow. We bought some large Thomas stickers to decorate the legs and sides. Our table looks similar to this

We ordered a dresser from a Lam Hoi in North Point Java Road. It was much cheaper than Art Deco and you can give them any designs and measurements. I don't know the exact English name but there are lots of furniture stores on that street so you can go in and compare prices and look at the catalogues.
