So I just found out that we might be moving to HK in January. We'll probably be living near City University of HK. Given that this is all last-minute, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, not only with finding housing and possibly a helper, but also with preschool options for my son who will turn 3 at the end of November. Does anyone know if there are any Cantonese preschools in the Kowloon Tong area? I'm assuming that it's too late to register him for any classes starting in January. Would he then start in September? And if so, is it already too late to try to find him a school in September, given the huge waiting lists?

I cant give you specific ones but I can assure you there will be at least 1/2 dozen if not more preschools in and around Kowloon Tong - its one of the most densest school zones in all of Hong Kong.
If you are looking for kindergarten and Cantonese, huge wait lists will not be an issue for you. The wait lists you have heard about are mostly for English based international schools.
