Buying medela breastpump from the U.S

Hello,

I am looking to buy the Freestyle or Pump in style Medela breastpumps.
The U.S appears to be way cheaper than Hk for this, but I'm not sure if I can use the U.S bought ones in HK given the difference in voltage.

Has anyone bought these medela pumps from the U.S and used in hk? If so, did you need power adapters and where did you buy them from?

Thanks!

Hi Nanki - assuming you are American and you have a US credit card which is why you are asking. If you have any banking/card in the UK you can order from Amazon UK which uses the same voltage and plug as Hong Kong. The Medela Swing is cheaper there than in HK from what I have seen as well.

You definitely will need a power converter for a breast pump, not just an adapter, I have heard of pumps blowing up due to voltage mismatch!

I bought a medela swing from the US. The adaptor does not work in Hong Kong, but it will work if you buy a HK medela adaptor (i borrowed a friend's and it worked). I ended up just using batteries to run it as I only used it from time to time and they seem to last a while.

Thanks a lot everyone. newbian - I will look at buying from the UK in that case!
