Buying a booster car seat

Hi,

My DD is just over 3 years old but is a over 30lbs and definitely taller than 40 inches (last I measured she was 42!). She is now too big for her toddler car seat and I need to get her a booster. Most boosters I've seen do not have a 5-point harness and I'd like her still to use one as I think she is still too young without it.

My question really is this - where is the best place to shop for a seat? I only know the usual TRU and department stores.. but am wondering if there are more specialised places?

TIA! Happy New Year!

Hi,
I was in the same situation as you. I finally found one from Britax Revolva 1-2-3 at Mothercare. It has the 5-point harness and you can change to the car's seat belt when your kid is older.

I'm happy with the carseat and so does my dd.

I have seen them at Mothercare and Chicco. They only go up to 49 pounds with the harness - after that you need to use the seatbelt. My 2 year old is well over 40 pounds (he is 22kg) so we had to get one from the US.

I think I know what fee is saying - that you can use the 5-point harness until they are about 49lbs, after that you need to switch to using seatbelt only.

My DD is just a bit over 33lbs.. although she is pretty tall for her age. She won't be 49lbs for a while, yet!

Thanks for the info :)

:thanks
