N newbiekt Registered User Dec 30, 2010 #2 No you don't. By the time they are on solids they can burp themselves. Or that's what I've found with my two anyway. Sometimes my 7 month old needs holding for a couple of minutes if he drinks his milk too quickly but he gets the burp up on his own!
