Beginning August 1, if the minibus you're riding has seatbelts, make sure you buckle yours up for safety.
Under a new law, anyone who doesn't buckle up on a minibus - if it has seatbelts - will be subject to a maximum fine of $5,000 and three months' imprisonment.
Drivers may refuse to drive if a passenger will not wear a seat belt. This causes inconvenience to all the other passengers, too.
Each seat belt must be used by one person at a time. If two kids take up one seat and count as one adult, only one of you have to wear the seat belt.
