Bringing helper over from Philippines

Hi, Can anyone give me advice on the fastest way to bring a helper over from the Philippines? I am waiting for the paperwork to come back from the helper - but then what to do? Can i just post it all in or is it best to submit in person? And can another person submit on my behalf? I have a six week old baby so can't really stand in an immigration / consulate queue for a day...
Also, once in process, can the helper come to hk for a 'holiday' on a tourist visa and then exit to macau when the working visa comes through?
Any help on how to do this / how the system works is appreciated.
Thanks.

helper!

first and forthmost, congratulations with the new arrival. i am going to try my best to answer your questions as i was in the same situation (except with a 10 months old baby instead of 6 weeks old!).
i did it through an agency. they handel everything! there is a faster way: u declare that u don't want to wait for the results of the physical examination. and write a supporting letter to the immigration regarding your situation. they can be quite sympathetic, i heard.

hope my 2 cents help!

good luck

christine

Our agent adviced us to do the same - a letter to the Philippine Consulate telling them your current situation with a baby and no helper and need the urgent help of this person, asking them to expedient the visa issuance process. It did helped speed up the process by a few weeks.

Does anyone know a reputable agency to do this all through? What do they normally charge for this?

EMRY is supposed to be the best....in fact when i spoke to the phillipine consulate they mentioned this agency saying that the process can be hurried up if u use one of their registered agencies.....EMRY will do all yr paperwork and then will liase with the consulate and immigration to process papers quickly.....though if u ask me the quickest and cheapest method is to hire a helper with a finished contract in HK.
