We will be moving to hk in june and are thinking of bringing our helper from india with us.Does anyone know what are the requirements as per the government rule and how much would i land up paying in total (taxes, salary etc.)

You won't be able to apply for your helper's visa until your residency papers have been processed. The helper's paperwork should take 4-6 weeks.

You can get the helper's contract from immigration. All you need to do is complete it, courier to her in India to sign and then submit it to the Indian consulate to attest. Submit the contract with supporting documentation for immigration to process. Once you receive the visa, courier to her to stick onto her passport and book her ticket to HK.

Have a read through the Immigration FAQs on hiring a helper

Cost
- Gov't levy which is $9600. you can pay as a lump sum or in installments during the 2 year contract.
- Indian consulate fees - $200
- there maybe some other miscellaneous $.

Looking for an indian maid

Please can anyone help, know agencies, or even a indian maid looking for a job. I am sure I am not the first one trying to find a DH through internet.

I have tried amahnet.com but they do not have any indians at the moment!

PS: No asiaxpat.com!

Thanks.
