bring helper to Canada

Hi.

I am going home this summer and from some of the threads here I found my way and think I know how to apply for a temporary resident visa for my helper--to bring her home for the summer.

The way things are with the banks right now however,---there is a chance we end up getting shipped home by the end of the summer. I am thinking I get DH temp visa for summer and also start the process of her working visa--incase things end up that we are going home in Sept.

Has anyone done this. Is it possible? I know that either my husband or I would have to fly back to Hong Kong with her and she might have to wait a few weeks to get her visa. Still, just wondering if this is possible or if anyone can recommend an agency that might take care of this part of things for us?

thanks,

Kathym

we just got a temp visa for our helper. it was pretty simple and straight forward, just make sure you and she fill out ALL 14 pages of forms, including info about her and hubby's family (even if her family is not accompanying her).

have no idea about work visa, sorry!

That's great news--about getting the visa fairly easily. I understand the visa is for under 183 days--and I'm sure when you apply you have to be specific about the itineraray (going on vacation for 2 months to Canada--this date till that date). But you could possibly stay for a month longer or enter a month later--couldn't you? Just wondering?

thanks,

Kathym
