Breastfeeding Rooms

Hi All

I ventured out of my home with my newborn today into Central for the first time and when baby was hungry I had no idea where to go to feed.

Do any shopping centres have breastfeeding rooms?
Where do you go to feed?

Thanks

Eugene has a bf room... I also stop sometimes at Starbuck (the big one at Landmark, I just take one of the comfortable seats), I always have a bf apron with me. In the worse case I locked myself in some toilets...

Is that a changing room, or a bf room? I thought was a changing room... The other day I was in Megabox, when the baby woke up and started crying. So I ended up in their changing room. I was afraid that, as it was a changing room, dads may also use that, but went there anyway. There was a sofa inside, and could bf my baby.

I think it's a bf room, as there is also a baby changing room beside... but I have a doubt now ;). I never used it, but saw the indication on the door...

Yeah, Eugene is good for BFing. Also in Central you can BF in B2B. Other than that, it's like the rest of HK- inconvenient and disappointing.

I find the nearest starbucks and try and sit in a corner. Elements mall in Kowloon has a breastfeeding room as does Harbour City in TST. Not sure about the Island side though.

The baby nappy change rooms in IFC Mall also have a chair for breastfeeding. But as you'll see from this thread and others plenty of people (including myself) just go to Starbucks or Pacific Coffee and sit in the corner in one of the comfy chairs. Honestly, I'm sure no one realised what I was up to much of the time. Use a nursing cover or carry a big muslin/blanket if you want to cover - but be aware that not all babies like to be covered up during feeds.

Pacific Place has a good one too...not sure about Central itself...would assume that if you have a big blanket then any Starbucks would be fine.

Mothercare on 3/F Princes Building in Central has a little room where you can change baby's diaper or breastfeed. It's a very comfortable chair, actually.
If that room was occupied, I would take myself to Bookazine on the same floor, and sit in a quiet corner of the children's book section on one of the bean bags they provide. I usually buy a book for one of my boys as well, so I don't feel so cheeky about using their place to breastfeed.
Failing that, you can always use a changing room in a clothes shop like Marks and Spencer, H&M, etc, if you want privacy and don't want to do the Starbucks solution.

Not sure if anyone is still looking at this thread - but I have been to harbour city today and there is a new baby room there (just opened) - near Toys R Us - it has 3 breast feeding rooms all with good chairs and a separate area for changing - so pleased that it seems like more rooms like this are sprining up in HK :)

I haven't been to the one near Toys r Us, but on the same floor near the bathrooms there is a baby room, which is great, unfortunately it was about 13 degrees celcius in there and I couldn't stay in for more than 5 minutes, let alone feed my baby! IFC's rooms are very cold as well, if anyone knows how to get in touch with the mall management would be great to let them know how they can improve a good initiative. Seems only Pacific Place has a normal temperature.

Funny that I went to the one in Megabox, and I found it quite hot. Specially after I placed my baby inside my shirt. But I guess if I had to remove some clothes, I would have probably found the temperature right.
